I can do it myself - part Danonino

Being the big sister, Nina now wants to do everything herself. It always works out well for her, but for us... long live the washing machine and wipes!

First time on boat this season

Finally the weather was OK and Staszek was back in town so off we went sailing with the four of us for the first time this season. Nina proudly showed off her new life vest and after some cleaning we took Wind Spirit onto Lake Michigan after the long winter. The water had a very calming effect on the little ones as you can see.

Bugaboo for two

Now that there is two of 'them', it was high time to accessorize the Bugaboo with the famous wheeled board: Stasiu is comfortable in his carseat or the bassinet and Nina can hop on and off. Everybody happy!

Hungry Nina

Our friends David & Lee invited us for a BBQ dinner and the sausage went down a treat with Nina. But healthy veggies also have to be eaten! No problem for her.

Playing with Stasiu

Nina is the big sister now and she takes her 'job' very seriously: always ready to help out with a burp cloth, blanket or toy. This particular afternoon they spent some time together on the play rug and Nina even let Stasiu play with her dog!

Now that Stasiu has arrived, Nina is no longer the only little one in the house. In fact, she's suddenly getting big! But she will of course always be our little girl.

Stasiu's first (bucket) bath

It's already been a while, but the pictures were still waiting: Stasiu's first bath. Apart from the hair washing, he did seem to like it. We'll see if the likes the bath tub as much as Nina does.

Nutella Nina

Freshly baked bread with Nutella, that's what Nina likes. But how to open the jar? It won't be long before she figures it out.

Sleeping Stasiu

Sleep is what babies do most of the 24 hours in a day. Then why is it that all parents to newborns are so sleep deprived :)

Nina with Opa & Oma

Nina had a wonderful time with her opa en oma around. Everyday they went to the playground (either outdoor or indoor), for walks in the Bugaboo or for games on the deck. All these activities make you hungry, so sometimes they took Nina for a treat at McD!

Stasiu and Opa & Oma

Exactly a week after Stasiu was born, opa and oma came to the USA to visit and help. It was great to have them over and they got to know Waukegan on foot a little better as the weather was not too bad so plenty of time of walks to the park and around the neighborhood. But most of all plenty of time to cuddle little Stasiu and play with Nina of course.

On Saturday 11 April, Nina met her little brother for the first time. There were lots of kisses and hugs, but then it was time for hide and seek.

Stasiu going home

After two nights in the hospital, Stasiu and Anita went home to Waukegan on Friday April 10. Stasiu was dressed up in his going-away-outfit, had to get rid of his 'alarm-device, exchange his comfy little crib for a carseat and went to meet his new house friends, the cats, for the first time. He slept through the whole event!

Stasiu and his mom are doing well. Maybe we can go home already tomorrow... Then Nina will have the chance to meet her little brother for the first time.
